  • The Four Freedoms
Thorough research enabled me to understand the significant events leading up to the bombing of Hiroshima, leading to me creating an specifically designed booklet to propose a strong argument against America's decision to drop the first atomic bomb used in warfare. The images used have been sourced from an original Hiroshima souvenir booklet dating back to 1955 and contribute to the authenticity of the piece. I thoroughly considered the relationship between word and image throughout the project to combine the two effectively. The complete process from research through to making has improved my knowledge of the relationship between word and image in book design and how it can be used effectively to portray different themes and concepts.

  • Aston Villa FC Rebrand
This is a personal project. In suspense of the upcoming Premier League season I have spent some time rebranding my boyhood club, Aston Villa. I wanted to experiment with rebranding a worldwide brand and felt that a football club would make an ideal client. My intentions were to reflect Aston Villa's proud history by returning to the circle crest which was worn at the time of the clubs proudest moment, winning the European Cup in 1982. I also wanted to introduce a minimal style brand as a whole which makes it adaptable and modern which has been reflected in the new crest design.
